Intellicast HD
Are you used to get up in the morning and check the weather forecast for the next few days?
I’m not, really, but I know a few people that are and after testing out this app I might as well be one of them.
I’m talking about Intellicast HD, by WSI Corporation. It is an iPad app with all kinds of weather information from all around the globe.

Graphically, it’s mesmerizing. I installed it a few hours ago and it is still open on the Skytime tab (see image above). Basically, it’s an active wallpaper with your locationĀ“s (or any other location you choose it to display) weather information, time, and forecast for the next days. The sky behind the information will depend on your current weather.

Then there is the map view. In Map Settings, you’ll be able to select which satellite will be used (N. America, Tropics, or Europe) and a lot of other layers (radar, earthquakes monitor, storm tracker, tropical tracks), including Weather Alerts, via push. Be sure to select them by tapping on the star (left of each option) so they can be active in the main map page as “Quick Picks”. After you do that, you can then check clouds animation, or any other information you selected (and also the default weather info will be displayed on the left side).

I never pay too much attention to weather applications, but this one sticks out like a sore thumb, and it is free indeed. If you are the proud owner of an iPad, grab it while it’s hot.
I found that when you try to select other location from the map tab, he may not find every city, and it gets worse if you are not on USA or Canada, but it will work if you select the “Use my location” option. It will grab your city, even if it’s not listed.

So stop wandering about tomorrow’s weather and get this useful application while it’s free. In the forecast section, you can get weather information for the next 30 days. How profetic is that?
