Good news everyone!
Remember a few days ago when we talked about Net Master HD, an amazing app for IT technicians?
Well, it seems its little iPhone brother is now available for free (for a limited time), so don’t wait anymore. Just grab it!
Check the review (link above) and take it!
Since I am an IT administrator myself, I think I would be nuts to not mention this one today.
Net Master HD by Nutec Apps is free for a very limited time.
This app really nails it for common network diagnostics.
You start with LAN Scan, that will perform a scan on your LAN (duh!) and return all the devices found. For each device it will provide you with several details, such as IP, MAC, Vendor, NetBios, Bonjour, etc. It will also give you an option to scan for open ports on each device.
Then there is the Trace Route. It grabs all the hops to a predetermined location and the associated details (Hostname, IP, Sent packages, Received, Avg RTT, Last RTT, Lost packages, Loss %)
In the Port Scan tab you get to scan the most common ports for any address, or even perform a full scan.
In the Ping tab, you get a nice ping interface, with interesting graphics and the usual information for ping command.
There is not much to say about this, but it is indeed one of the most used tools in the trade.
And finally, there is the Subnet Calculator. With this tool, you can easily calculate nets, subnets, net masks, in binary or hexa format.
Select the class (how many bits) of the subnet, and forget about doing the math yourself on a piece of paper (I had to do it oh so many times).
It is very important to mention that you can email the results for each action simply by clicking the envelope on the bottom left corner, so you can save it for further analysis.
This is definitely an application to install, if you happen to be an IT Technician.
The iPad version is free for a limited time, and the iPhone version will leave you 5 bucks thinner.
