iMAME
If you are looking for a way to run ROMs on your iPhone or iPad, please hurry up, this won’t be for very much longer.
*PANIC MODE*
So, iMAME by Jim VanDeventer (he has a webpage, but it’s blank for us, simple mortals) is an emulator from other gaming console systems.
You may have heard of iDos, for example. iMAME is the same.

So, basically you download online ROMs, which are emulated versions of old games for various sources (Mega Drive, Master System, Commodore 64, whatever) and run it on your iOS device.
So I strongly advise you to download it and install it right now, because it’s more than likely that it will be pulled off the AppStore. They don’t like this kind of apps very much.
The games that come included in the app are not that great, but there is a way to add more.
How to add more ROMs to iMAME:
1 – Download the ROMs you want in “zip” format.
2 – Download a phone explorer. I downloaded PhoneView for Mac.
3 – Copy the ZIP files to Apps/iMAME/Documents/
Please notice that in PhoneView the iMAME folder won’t appear unless you check “Show All Apps”.
4 – Open iMAME and rescan the ROM library (it’s the last item of Options)
5 – Have fun!
As I said, it is FREE and probably won’t be on the AppStore for much longer, so this is it!
