AwesomeTV Pro Video Downloader

If you want to take your favorite videos around with you, there’s an app for that.

I’m talking about AwesomeTV Pro Video Downloader by funnyJ Corp.

This awesome app will allow you to download movies from a wide variety of sources (yes, including youtube – I know you’re desperate for this information), and you should grab it while it’s available. Apple is known to take down this kind of apps that snatch stuff from youtube.

Also, AwesomeTV Pro is free for a limited time, so seriously… what are you waiting for?

The app gives you the possibility of creating groups of video to have your stash sorted out, and it also comes with a pre-made list of sources (because the internet is not only youtube), such as TED, DailyMotion, Vimeo, VideoBash, veoh, TVPot, Pandora TV, etc.

You will be able to watch standard format videos such as mp4, mov, m4v, 3gp, mpeg, and even watch streaming downloads whenever possible (from Vimeo, for example).

This great app is free for a limited time and you shouldn’t think too much about it. Just install it already.

MusicTandem – Personalized Music Channels

We all love music. It doesn’t matter what is the rhythm or the main artist. Some of us like the good ol’ Heavy Metal, some like Pop Music, Rap, and then some like Dubstep (may Jeebus have mercy on your soul).

Anyway, if there is one thing we like better than having music on our iPad, is having free music on our iPad. Am I lying? Didn’t think so.

MusicTandem – Personalized Music Channels by AppTandem comes in to the rescue and provides us lots of free music from whoever you want.

I was going to briefly summarize the features of the app, but I think the official description does it pretty good:

✔ Create your free personalized music channels just typing in one of your favorite artists, a tag or choosing a genre
✔ Watch a continuous stream of music videos picked for you from YouTube
✔ Create a mix of songs you may like starting from what you are listening to
✔ Discover new music and get to know more about the artists you like
✔ AirPlay support, enjoy watching your music channels on Apple TV with your friends and family

As soon as I installed it, I typed in “Rage Against The Machine” and it started playing “Killing In The Name”, followed by “Bulls On Parade” and “Wake Up”, all three of them with their respective videos. Pretty neat.

So, if you’re into music you won’t let this opportunity pass you by, I can feel it.
Also, it’s free, so plenty of time to regret it later.

Check the review below and be advised: the price will go up soon.

SPEEDbit HD

If you are human, I’m pretty sure you spend some of your time browsing around on Youtube.
You may like vlogs, news, music videoclips, stand up comedy, old Pink Panther episodes, who knows…

The fact is that there are some videos that you’d like to have always with you and show your family, friends, and even those you don’t know that well, but you feel you must share all the awesomeness of that particular video.

I feel your pain. I can’t get enough of Penn & Teller, and I feel the urge to annoy share my enthusiasm about it with my friends.
The problem is that sometimes the size of the video can be considerable, and maye you don’t have a WiFi connection at hand. Or maybe it’s too slow. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just save the video on your device and just press play whenever needed?

There ya go.

SPEEDbit HD by SpeedBit is the app for that. There have been a few that claimed to do the same, but they were removed from the appstore before you could do anything about it. And if you managed to grab one, Youtube would change/update their site and parsing in a way that your app was rendered useless. Very sad.

So now we have SPEEDbit HD and it has been around for quite some time now. I don’t know what is their secret, and frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.

I could list you all their features and tell them what a great youtube viewer app it is, but bottom line is: it saves videos to the device. If you’re not interested in saving videos, don’t even bother. The native youtube app is perfectly fine for watching videos.

Check the video below to see some more screenshots:

As we like it, it’s free. Get it, test it, use it, and if you don’t like it, just delete it. No harm done.
