MadPad HD – Remix Your Life
So if you’re into those youtube videos where people sing a capella with themselves in a slipt screen visual, this may be the app for you.
MadPad HD, by Smule is an app to give your creativity a considerable boost, and is available for iPhone as well, as a separate application.
You get to record up to 12 sounds – that could be anything – and then put them together however you see fit.
I don’t usually put videos in the middle of a post, but I think this one will pass the idea through a lot better than whatever I may write here.
Of corse he had some effects over there (that’s what he does with all his videos), but the idea is pretty much all there. If you search for “MadPad” on Youtube, you’ll see a lot (and I mean A LOT) of other videos of people going nuts with it.

Pocket Stalin
So, this one is for those who always wanted the mix of 2 main ingredients:
- One 8 Ball
- An old dead grumpy dictator at your disposal
I mean, who never thought about it? I’m sure we all do! Right?
That’s right, comrades! Pocket Stalin by Kristanix Games gets you the old russian leader to give you wise(?) advice.
First of all, turn on all the settings. Get subtitles, get him to get angry if interrupted and play welcome message (the first few times, then turn this off).
Then, is all about interacting with him. He’s there for you.
You have two modes of interaction (actually three, but the third one is hidden): Wisdom or Ask.
If you select wisdom, you will shake the device and he will honor you with a piece of eastern wisdom, for example:
“I do not like Russians in American movies. They all talk in funny accents”
“A TV is an idiot box. A phone is a mobile idiot box.”
The second mode is the Ask. After you shake the device, he will provide you a “yes” or “no” answer. Very 8 bally.
Oh, remember the “Stalin gets angry if interrupted” setting? Try to interrupt him three times. And don’t interrupt him anymore or…
And finally, the hidden mode can be only achieved by doing… nothing.
Let him sit there and watch him get angry and needy at the same time.
I’m not going to lie to you: it gets old in no time, so install it, laugh for a while, and when he starts repeating himself too much, uninstall it and go on with your business. Unless you really like 8 Balls. In that case, it’s a keeper.
