London 2012: Official Results App for the Olympic and Paralympic Games
Heads up! As the initial soccer games for the London 2012 Olympic Games have already begun, I feel it’s only fitting to bring you to this awesome and detailed official results app to follow the games and not miss a point! I am talking about London 2012: Official Results App for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, developed by The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Limited – yes, those are the full names. Deal with it.

First thing to do here, is to set your favorite team in the My Games tab > Settings. After doing that, you’ll get the main news for your country.
Then, it’s up to you to explore the app, and there are lots of places to look into.
In the Schedule tab, you’ll get two other tabs: Live and Calendar. Selecting Live you’ll see what is happening in real-time, and the related tweets and news as they appear. Selecting Calendar, you’ll get the complete calendar for the games and time schedule. You can also set reminders so the app gives you a heads up when a specific game is about to start.

Moving on to the Sports tab, you will get a list of all sports participating in the event. Tapping in any of them, you’ll see all details about it, such as events, news, photos and even an “about” section, where you can find out more information about that specific sport, along with an introductory video. Give it a try, I spent quite some time just browsing around a few.
Then there is the Medals tab. You can see all the confirmed medals as they are awarded, and sort it by medallist or by sport. In the Info section, you’ll see details and pictures of the medals, and the story behind the olympic medals.

In the Athletes tab, you will see every athlete participating in the games. There are “Featured”, “by Sport” and “by Country” tabs to help you sort out the athletes and find more about each one. In their info page you’ll see a photo, personal details (gender, birth, height, weight), the sport, the number of medals won, his/her performance, and related news. It’s worth to mention that you can also assign a reminder to a specific athlete, so you get push messages related to that person.

This is a very interesting app, and it fits both enthusiasts and curious people who are trying to get to know this titanic event a little better.
It looks great both in iPhone and iPad devices, so just grab it and start marking reminders all over the place.
This app will also be used for the Paralympic Games, but right now it is still disabled, and will become active in the future.
This app is free, so grab it without guilt!
Good games and may the best win!

Snap & Sync
Now there’s a great idea!
Snap & Sync is a social photography app that may prove itself very useful.

The idea behind it is very simple. Sometimes when you go to places together with your friends, all of you guys usually take pictures on your own devices, and then you’ll never see their pictures, because they are too lazy to post it on facebook or send you by mail. Sometimes the lazy one is you. I know, I’ve been there.
So Snap & Sync has arrived to stop that from happening.
Basically you’ll create an album and invite your friends to that album. Then, every picture you guys take will go to the “cloud” and will be automatically shared and sync’d for all.

Nice, right?
Also, you can choose to publish all the photos directly to the Facebook, so another step skipped in the name of laziness!
This awesome app is free for a limited time, so don’t wait any longer!
Pocketbooth
Photo Booths can be so much fun! I can’t remember the last time I used one without making funny faces (funny faces are better than my normal ugly face, so there you go).
Now you can have that same fun without inserting coins and directly in your pocket, with this awesome Pocketbooth, by Project Box.

The app is simple enough and it’s focused on the user-friendly interface. Just start it, select the camera you want to use (for the devices that have more than one camera), center your eyes on the red arrows (yeah, right!), and click the big green button.
It will take 4 pictures of whatever is in front of the camera, and you better make it funny. Or hot. Funny or hot.

If you check the settings, there are a few parameters you can change.
- Strip Size: 3 or 4 pictures
- Photo Effect: 1975 / Antique / B&W / Color / Sepia
- Paper Stock: Glossy / Matte
- Border Color: Black / White
- Time Between Shots: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 seconds
- Auto Save: App + Camera Roll / App Only
- Camera: Front / Rear
- Flash: Auto / Off / On

GroupShot
So you’re at the park trying to take a family picture. You spend all your energy to gather everyone and make them face the camera. To be sure, you take 4 pictures. At least one should come out right. Right?
You get home and check the images.
Picture 1: Little Jimmy had a full finger up his nose and was very focused on extracting whatever was in there.
Picture 2: Darn, little Jimmy! Take that finger off your mouth! Ew!
Picture 3: Little Jimmy is perfect, but your sister closed her eyes at the precise moment of the click.
Picture 4: Where is Little Jimmy?

At the end of the day, you couldn’t get one picture with everyone on their places, looking at the camera.
If only you could mix the picture 1 and 3, that would be awesome.
Groupshot by Macadamia Apps allows you to just do that.

Take a few pictures from the same angle, and with the people in tha same positions/places, and their faces won’t matter, if they can make a straight face in at least one of the pictures.
Select the parts of the picture you want to replace and select another picture to replace only those parts.

This is a great app and it’s free for a limited time, so grab it!
Discovr Music – discover new music
Do you remember Discovr Movies? What if we apply the same concept to music? Awesome, right?
That’s the purpose of Discovr Music, by Filter Squad.

Start by selecting a band of your preference and let the app suggest other bands to you. Double tap a band to check more details about it, such as Biography, Songs, Videos, Blogs about it, Reviews and other Links.
You can listen to about 30 seconds of any song and even buy those songs from within the app.
Also, check the social networks and find out what people are talking about that band (Twitter and Facebook).

This is a great app for music lovers (who isn’t?) and it’s Universal and free for a limited time, so you really should install it.
AwesomeTV Pro Video Downloader
If you want to take your favorite videos around with you, there’s an app for that.
I’m talking about AwesomeTV Pro Video Downloader by funnyJ Corp.

This awesome app will allow you to download movies from a wide variety of sources (yes, including youtube – I know you’re desperate for this information), and you should grab it while it’s available. Apple is known to take down this kind of apps that snatch stuff from youtube.
Also, AwesomeTV Pro is free for a limited time, so seriously… what are you waiting for?

The app gives you the possibility of creating groups of video to have your stash sorted out, and it also comes with a pre-made list of sources (because the internet is not only youtube), such as TED, DailyMotion, Vimeo, VideoBash, veoh, TVPot, Pandora TV, etc.
You will be able to watch standard format videos such as mp4, mov, m4v, 3gp, mpeg, and even watch streaming downloads whenever possible (from Vimeo, for example).

This great app is free for a limited time and you shouldn’t think too much about it. Just install it already.
Discovr Movies – discover new movies
Let’s agree on something here: the 7th art is awesome. You may like science fiction movies, you may like romantic flicks, or you may even like Woody Allen (yes, some people do).
The reality is that movies probably take a big chunk of our lives, and we’re thankful for it.
Discovr Movies by Filter Squad helps you on your quest to find more movies that you will most probably enjoy.

It all starts with a movie that you like. Type its name in the search box.
We’ll assume you just loved the animation film “Up”. Face it, a flying house with a grumpy old fella and a little scout boy inside is the recipe for success.
So Up it is. You type it and the app presents you with alternatives.

You’ve seen them all. But you also liked Tangled a lot (really? I mean, REALLY?), so you give it a go and tap on Tangled.
The app will very neatly present you with more options, based on Tangled.

For each movie you also get a lot of interesting details. Just double tap it and presto!
The info chart, a Synopsis, cast, reviews, clips and related links are available to you.
Also, you may want to share that movie with your friends on via email, facebook or twitter.

Discovr movies is an awesome app for those who love to spend a couple of hours in front of a screen. Also, it’s Universal and free for a limited time.
FishEye Toy Camera
If you’re into photography, you must know those funny lenses called “fisheye”.
Those lenses provide a different and cool (for some people) look. A kind of a distorted tunneled vision.
So today you can get this FishEye Toy Camera by Misskiwi for free.

This is a very simple to use app. I advise you to first go to the settings and change de quality do high, and perhaps the effect to strong (that’s the whole point of it, right?).
After that, just point and tap anywhere to take the shot. After a little bit of processing (no more than 10 seconds), you’ll get the final result.
Then, you can slide through different type of effects (color effects) and select it as you please.

Additionally, you can send the pictures to Twitter, Camera Roll, mail, Instagram or any other application on your iPhone that supports file storage.
This is a fun app, and it’s free for a limited time.
